Ongoing & Continuing Education Opportunities
For nurses, Lakeland Regional Medical Center offers a range of training programs and a variety of teaching methods. This sets the stage for you to arm yourself with the knowledge, skills and abilities that you'll need to succeed in healthcare today and tomorrow. Ongoing and continuing education (CE) opportunities specifically for RNs include:
- Succession planning
- National chemotherapy/biotherapy education
- Intermediate care and critical care internships
- Diabetes instruction
- Cardiac and stroke care training
- Trauma care training
- Education in early recognition of at-risk patients for cardiac and respiratory arrest
- Preparation for certification courses
We encourage all of our nurses to complete specialty certifications. There are reimbursements available for national certification review courses and exams.
Caring Hands Cohort
If you're a nurse seeking a BSN degree, this advanced education program is for you. It's already helped put 30 RNs at Lakeland Regional Medical Center back in the classroom. And, you'll have RNs just like you to lean on. Each group consists of 15 LRMC RNs who go through the program together. We pay your tuition and for your books, and we even give you one day off with pay for each period so that you can study or attend class.
Tuition Reimbursement
Get paid to learn more and then get paid more for your knowledge. When eligible, you can take advantage of our generous tuition reimbursement policies (up to $4,000/year) for degree or certificate programs offered at accredited institutions of higher learning – often, these degrees and certifications lead to higher salaries.
What's truly exceptional about our program is that all employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement once they have completed 1,020 hours of services (typically about six months of full-time work). Nursing and many allied health professionals can complete required continuing education courses through the Education Department at no cost.
Continuing Education for All Employees
Beyond tuition reimbursement, all employees can take advantage of convenient onsite continuing education (CE) opportunities. There are a number of CE opportunities in radiology, and respiratory therapists can complete CE credits offered as part of our Respiratory Week programs.
